April Grabman, Your Republican Candidate for Ashtabula County Prosecutor in 2024!
It is an honor and a privilege to announce that I am running for Ashtabula County Prosecutor. I am the wife of a police officer, a mother, and a lawyer. I am a proud graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School. After graduating high school, I attended Youngstown State University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. After attending Youngstown State, I attended Akron University where I earned my Law Degree.
I currently work as a staff attorney for the Ashtabula County Court of Common Pleas. Prior to that, I was employed as a Magistrate for Judge David Schroeder, until I voluntarily resigned on December 15, 2023 in order to run for the position of the Prosecuting Attorney. I have experience in civil law, juvenile law, family law, and criminal law on both the defense and prosecution side. As a former assistant prosecutor, I worked alongside law enforcement, prosecuting thousands of cases, from major to minor, and sought justice for a multitude of victims.
If elected, I plan to provide quality representation by employing competent and qualified staff who will work to provide in-person services to the people of this county. I, as well as my staff, will support our law enforcement officials and work to restore the relationships with the courts, public defender’s office, and other involved agencies. An effective justice system can only truly be effective if the various parties work together. As your Prosecutor, my focus will not be on “restorative justice,” but on restoring justice.
The Ashtabula County Prosecutor has the responsibility for overseeing, and if the prosecutor chooses, actively participating in countless legal matters for the agencies and citizens of Ashtabula County. The importance of this position cannot be understated, and this position deserves someone with integrity, dedication, and commitment to Ashtabula County. Foremost, I have a passion for justice. I am committed to Ashtabula County and dedicated to God and family. I humbly ask for your vote on March 19th.
State Senator Sandy O’Brien Files Paperwork for Re-Election to 32nd Senate District
The Conservative Stalwart Will Have The Full Backing of The Republican Caucus, Local Leaders
State Senator Sandra O’Brien (R-Rome) announced that she has filed her petitions for re-election to Ohio’s 32nd District, which encompasses all of Ashtabula and Trumbull counties, and most of Geauga County. She was first elected to the seat in 2020 and previously served as the Ashtabula County Auditor for three terms.
Senator O’Brien has championed legislation aimed at strengthening education oversight, enhancing infrastructure throughout Northeast Ohio, and ensuring veterans receive proper healthcare.
“It has been among the highest honors of my life to serve the people of Ohio’s 32nd Senate District,” Senator O’Brien said. “I am excited about the conservative accomplishments we have achieved in the Ohio Senate, and I look forward to continuing that record for the next four years. There is still more work to be done and I humbly ask the voters for their continued support in the upcoming election.”
Ohio Senate Majority Leader Rob McColley echoed his support for Senator O’Brien.
“Senator O’Brien has been a rock solid conservative who has fought tirelessly for her district,” said Senator McColley. “This can be seen through the passion and values she brings to the Ohio Senate on a daily basis. I look forward to working with her to secure her reelection.”
